Scottish Enterprise, in association with Forth Ports and City of Edinburgh Council are considering investment options for the Port of Leith. The aim will be to provide flexible facilities at Leith for a range of possible industry uses including dry bulk cargo, cruise shipping, marine renewable manufacturing, installation and maintenance vessels, oil and gas decommissioning, carbon capture and storage vessels and ferry services.
The procurement of a Masterplan is being carried out in 2 stages. Stage One is a scoping exercise to carry out a review of various options and inform the preparation of the detailed masterplan and technical/engineering solution at stage Two.
Stage Two includes the additional investigation and surveys required and the outputs and deliverables which the professional team require to produce in order to complete the stage Two masterplan and technical solution. This will form the basis of a development framework for the Port of Leith and the vehicle used to achieve the necessary consents for the Port of Leith Masterplan and consent application for the marine access solution.
The stage Two masterplan & technical/engineering works will include:
- Final designs for the marine access solution identified within stage 1,
- Prepare a development framework for the Port of Leith,
- Possible contractor procurement, contract management and CDM coordinator role.
