East Dunbartonshire Council is seeking to engage with a suitably qualified and experienced ‘Design Team’ with a lead Consultant (Architect). The team should include an Architect, Quantity Surveyor, Structural Engineer, Principal Designer and input from a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer to provide all the necessary professional services to deliver new mixed tenure affordable homes across East Dunbartonshire.
A joint venture with Social Work and Bield Housing and Care is proposed on Site 9. The successful ‘Design Team’ will be required to work closely with all 3 parties and take account of potentially different design and specification requirements.
The appointment will be in 2 stages, stage 1 will be to work up the detailed designs for all 11 sites. It is expected that sites 1 - 7 will progress to planning application and project completions delivering around 74 new Council houses with an option to develop out sites 8 - 11 which could deliver a further 206 new affordable homes subject to (1) Council approval, (2) Bield Housing and Care Board approval and (3) the organisation's performance and may, therefore, not proceed.
