II.2.4)Description of the procurement:

The City of Edinburgh Council (the Council) intends to establish a new multi-supplier Framework Agreement for the provision of supported bus services.

The Council wishes to consider a number of options for these services, including non-fare paying service / community transport / shuttle bus services (for avoidance of temporary road closures) / wheelchair accessible vehicles.

The new Framework Agreement will take into account technical requirements including any need for PVG checks, and will possibly be split into Lots, e.g. fare paying, non-fare paying, short term routes.

It is anticipated that the new Framework Agreement will commence in September 2017 and will operate for a duration of up to 4 years.

The total value of contracts that may be placed under the Framework Agreement is estimated to be in the region of 4 800 000 GBP.

The purpose of this notice is to facilitate market engagement with potential suppliers to inform the specification of requirements. For that reason, the Council would welcome expressions of interest by Friday, 3.3.2017.

The Council may contact suppliers who have registered interest before publishing any related contract notice.
