This has provided an opportunity to review the purpose of the system and to extend it to include other clinical contractors including, but not limited to, Ophthalmic contractors, Dental contractors, Pharmacies and Primary Care Prescribers.

The system will be populated manually by Health Board staff, although there is a possibility of automating this via links with another system in the future. The system should hold key personal details and practice details; be searchable by Health Board users and practice users; have a reliable and user-friendly reporting function; and interface with a number of other national systems (likely 1-way, but there is a possibility of the occasional 2-way interface). Notifications of changes, etc, are likely to be required across Health Board users.

The system will need to meet certain data protection, information governance, information security and other legislative requirements.
