West Lothian Council has a requirement for a small number of service users to be accommodated in a residential unit within the area. The provider will be expected to provide for 24 hour care and support for adults (age 16-64) who have physical and complex disabilities. Service users are likely to have a significant disability such as Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease , Huntington's Chorea, and other degenerative conditions They will require supervision on a 24 hour basis, have high level care needs and require a waking night staff.
This residential accommodation must be located locally in order to allow easy access for families and engagement with the community. The accommodation must also meet minimum building standards for individuals who have access and mobility problems and be registered with the Care Inspectorate.
