Lerwick Port Authority published a contract notice for the commission of two harbour vessels in 2004 (OJ ref 2004/S 73-062166). A transparent competitive tender was conducted in accordance with Directive 93/36/EC. Due to funding constraints the contract signed with the successful shipyard required the delivery of just one vessel. With funding now available the contract is to be amended (or a new contract on the same terms entered into) to deliver a second vessel to the same general specification.
